Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT) offered in both the individual and group settings

Individual KAT

Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT) is an innovative approach that uses the psychoactive medicine Ketamine, in combination with various methods of guidance, talk therapy, somatic therapy, and mindfulness, to catalyze healing.

Ketamine is used most commonly as an anesthetic in hospital settings. Recent research points to its efficacy as a fast-acting anti-depressant. Ketamine has also been used for decades within the context of psychedelic therapy, in which experiencing expanded-states of consciousness can support psychological insight, shift dysfunctional and addictive patterns, and support spiritual growth. A ketamine session may vary in intensity from a mild shift of awareness to a profound internal journey, depending on factors such as medication dosage, route of administration, and personal intention and preparation.

Ketamine is a potent and adaptable psychedelic. Ketamine-Assisted Therapy can, therefore, be applied to a variety of mental health conditions. We work with patients on issues ranging from mild and moderate conditions (which might require 1-2 ketamine sessions), to more chronic and intense issues, such as severe treatment-resistant depression and PTSD (which may require many sessions over an extended period of time).

The determination of any treatment plan is a dynamic and collaborative process that involves you, your primary therapist, and Riverbird staff members. The Ketamine-Assisted Therapy process includes the following: one or more preparation sessions, medication sessions, and post-medication integration sessions. The treatment plan and protocol are developed collaboratively with you to meet your individual goals and needs.
