Ketamine-Assisted Therapy offered in both the individual and group settings

Our Philosophy

Ketamine-Assisted Therapy is, by nature, a time-intensive treatment.  Unlike approaches like ongoing psychotherapy or psychiatric medications, the cost of psychedelic treatment is upfront. This means the value of this short-term experience may mitigate future costs associated with treating your mental health condition. We recognize this upfront cost can be a barrier to accessing this treatment, and we are doing our best to make our services as affordable as possible, while also creating a long-term sustainable model for our clinicians. Our work at Riverbird is a labor of love for all involved.  The clinicians and staff receive payment below their typical pay rate in order to make these treatments as accessible as possible.  It is our aim to be transparent about the costs of treatment. The cost reflects the depth of this process, our training, and the amount of time that the therapist/treatment team dedicates to each patient.

We require that you keep a credit card on file during the course of treatment. If you would like to pay by cash or check, please inform us prior to the start of treatment, though we will still also require that you have a credit card on file. Payment is expected at the time of service. If we have not received payment at the time of service, we will plan to charge the card on file. If you have questions about this policy, we are happy to discuss this further during the initial consultation appointment.

Payment for the remaining balance of group treatment is expected at the start of the group. A patient is responsible for the full cost of the group regardless of whether they attend all treatment sessions. We are currently not able to accept insurance to cover this treatment, and are not in-network with any insurance companies. With prior arrangement with your treatment team, we are able to provide you with a Superbill of services provided and payment received. Some insurance policies may reimburse some portion of your treatment as an out-of-network benefit if you submit this Superbill. It is your responsibility to determine your insurance policy’s benefits before the start of treatment.

Cancellation Policy

If any appointment is canceled with less than 48 hours notice, a fee of 25% of the cost of the appointment will be charged. If an appointment is no-showed, a fee of 50% of the cost of the appointment will be charged. This must be paid prior to the scheduling of any future appointments.

Good Faith Estimate

What is a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE)?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” (GFE), which is an estimate for the total cost of non-emergency medical services. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the total bill. The Good Faith Estimate will be provided to you with our initial intake paperwork. For more information, you can visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059. It is not always possible in the field of psychotherapy to give an exact cost of treatment, given the ongoing nature of the work. That being said, we will inform you of the expected cost for the initial phase of treatment, and if additional treatment is recommended, we will provide an updated estimate for you.
